Why dose my wife hate affection?

I thought women like affection. Why dose my wife hate it when I get close to her? why dose she cringe when I want to snuggle? I keep clean and presentable but she gets so uncomfortable if I get close. I do not force her into anything she dosen't want. I hate to say this but she is so cold. Can you help.
