Do Americans have a different opinion of Catholics than people in other countries?

as a former catholic and devoted nun----I still respect the faith----and have kept a few beliefs [usually politically-applied] from the religion----I still respect it----though I recognize it's dismantlement of a sturdy relationship with the lord----the day God told me to become an Evangelical was the day I entered a true state of love and grace---
